Over the past few weeks, many building owners have asked us how the coronavirus is impacting our company and what’s going to happen with future roofing projects.
Today we will attempt to address all your concerns, being open and transparent, following our core values.
Question #1 – What financing options do I have?
You may be worried that if you’re still scheduled to get your commercial roofing project completed in the next month or so, how the finances will work?
We understand that lots of businesses are in tough times financially and that it may not be the best time to invest money into your roof.
But let’s talk about it.
Perhaps we can push terms back or extend them. We want to help you get your roof leak-free as soon as possible so your business operations can continue safely.
Question #2 – Is it safe to get my roof repaired or replaced?
Say you wanted to move forward with your roofing project. Is it safe to have our workers at your facility when social isolation is recommended?
Yes.
Since all of the work is performed outside of the building, there’s no concern with social distancing within your facility. In fact, most situations do not require any interaction with the facility. Should contact need to be made, it can be done over the phone.
At West Roofing Systems, every roofing job going forward will have its own portable toilet/sanitation station, so our roofers will not have to enter your facilities.
The portable toilet is equipped with sanitation wipes and soap and water to disinfect roofers’ hands before going back onto your building.
Question #3 – Can we still move forward in roofing discussions?
Yes.
A roofing contractor wants to do everything possible to keep your building leak-free.
No matter which stage you’re into the roofing process, whether it’s:
- First discussions
- Scheduling a site visit
- Doing an inspection
- Beginning tear off
- Completing the job
- Warranty
A roofing contractor is here to help solve your roofing issues and to do so in a safe manner.
Question #4 – What safety precautions is West Roofing Systems doing to stop the spread of the coronavirus?
- Regarding transportation to the job sites, West Roofing Systems will be encouraging employees to meet at the job sites rather than traveling with multiple people in the company vehicles. We know this won’t work in every situation but we’re trying to reduce the number of occupants in each vehicle to the extent possible.
- Each job site will have its own temporary toilet, providing access to disinfectants and limiting our employees to exposure of the building occupants.
- Following all the recommendations from the CDC and others to keep the workplace as clean as possible.
- Providing temporary remote work for office personnel. This is an effort to expand on social distancing between employees.
For a complete list of COVID-19 safety procedures on stopping the spread, please review our Health and Safety page.
Question #5 – Is it the right time to do the work?
It can be.
We know that with the uncertainty of the Coronavirus and the uncertainly of future finances, that you may want to push off roofing work.
But now may be a great time to get your roof done.
Why?
If you currently have a roofing issue, your problem may only get worse with time. Each rain storm could be adding more saturation to your leaky roof, thus increasing the amount of tear off that will be needed before installing a new roofing system.
Another good point is that if most of your employees are working from home, there won’t be any interaction with roofers (social distancing) and there won’t be any distractions from the roofers working.
Roofing and COVID-19
Roofers are still around, and they want to solve your roofing problems.
Roofers are taking every precaution to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus as possible by arriving in separate vehicles and not going inside the building.
Now may be a good time to get your roof done because roofers have a lighter schedule, and most of your employees may not physically be in your building at this time.
