The Metzenbaum Center, a developmental disability center in Cleveland, Ohio, needed a reliable and long-lasting roof solution.
West Roofing Systems proposed a restorative spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roof system that would seal, insulate, and extend the life of the existing roof — all without a full tear-off.
Project Challenges
- Tight budget. Other roofing systems were proposed and came over budget.
- The existing roof structure was aging, showing signs of wear and potential leaks.
- Minimizing disruption was critical — the facility needed to remain fully operational during the work.
- The roof required a solution that provided waterproofing, insulation, and long-term durability without generating excessive debris or downtime.

Our Solution
- Minimize tear-off, install the spray foam roofing system. This reduces labor, landfill waste and costs, provides the best R-value available, and leaves behind a seamless membrane.
- Prepped the existing roof substrate to ensure adhesion of the SPF
- Applied an average thickness of 1.5″ of SPF to create a continuous, seamless roof surface
- Installed a protective coating over the foam to shield from UV exposure, weather, and wear
- Sealed all penetrations, flashing, and transitions to create a fully watertight system
