Introduction

When Oakview Elementary School in Stoneboro, Pennsylvania, needed a new roof, their main priority was cost. The Lakeview School District selected West Roofing Systems to install a spray-foam roof system that would restore the existing structure and meet strict budget and longevity requirements.

Project Challenges

  • There were tons of penetrations on the roof (HVAC units, curbs, exhausts, etc.)
  • The existing roof had reached the end of its service life and needed to be replaced without disrupting school operations.
  • Budget constraints required a cost-effective solution rather than a full tear-off and new roof.
  • The solution had to deliver long-term durability and meet the school district’s performance expectations.

Our Solution

  • West Roofing Systems prepared the existing EPDM roof, then applied a spray polyurethane foam (SPF) system to restore it.
  • The foam system provided continuous insulation without seams, sealed vulnerable areas, and created a new, durable surface.
  • Over the foam, a protective coating was applied to guard against UV damage
  • The result was a restored roof system with minimal disruption to school operations and long-term performance.

Warranty & Protection

  • A 20-year full-system warranty was issued to cover the spray foam and coating system, providing the school district with long-term assurance of performance.
