Sharpsville Container, a commercial/industrial facility, required a durable, high-performance roof restoration after its existing roof showed signs of aging and wear. West Roofing Systems implemented a spray foam roof restoration system — reinforcing the substrate, sealing penetrations, and applying protective coatings — to deliver a watertight, long-lasting roof.
Cost was the #1 issue.
To remove and replace these roof sections would’ve cost 4x more than restoring them with the spray foam roofing system.
Project Challenges
- The existing roof had deterioration, leaks, and compromised performance
- Transition points, roof penetrations, and edges were prone to leaks
- Need to avoid costly full tear-off and minimize disruption
- Ensuring proper adhesion and uniformity of coatings over the foam substrate
- Steep slope metal roofs provided challenges with installation and safety
- Multiple existing roofing systems provided a challenge with installation
Our Solution
- Removed all failing or loose roof components and prepped the substrate
- Applied spray polyurethane foam (SPF) to reinforce and level the roof surface
- Over the foam, installed a protective coating system: base + topcoat
- Sealed all transitions, flashing, penetrations, and edges to ensure continuity
- Embedded granules into the topcoat

- A 15-year, No Dollar Limit, Non-pro-rated, full-system warranty was issued.
